A duct heater is a device used to heat air or gases through a duct system. It typically consists of electric heating elements or other heating technologies (such as steam or gas) and is connected to the ductwork, where it heats the air passing through it. The heated air is then distributed through the duct system to the desired area.

Working principle: When air flows through the heater, the heating elements warm the air, which is then transported through the ducts to the intended space. This heating method allows for rapid and even temperature increases, commonly used in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.

Industrial Heating: Used to heat air in industrial production processes, such as in spray booths, drying rooms, plastic processing, and metal treatment.

HVAC Systems: Utilized in commercial buildings and large factories as air heating units in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.

Duct heater structure

Heating Elements: These are responsible for generating heat, usually electric elements or other heat sources.

Airflow Chamber: The area where air passes through the heating elements and gets heated.

Fan or Blower: Helps circulate air through the heater and into the duct system.

Temperature Control: A thermostat or control system to regulate the temperature of the heated air.

Insulation: Keeps the heat inside the heater to improve efficiency.

Duct Connections: These connect the heater to the duct system for air distribution.

Safety Features: Built-in protections to prevent overheating or malfunctions.

Duct Heater Working Principle

A duct heater uses high-temperature resistance wires evenly distributed within high-temperature resistant stainless steel fin tubes. The gaps are filled with crystalline magnesium oxide powder, known for its excellent thermal conductivity and insulation properties. This design ensures high thermal efficiency, strong mechanical properties, and uniform heat generation. When electricity passes through the resistance wire, the heat spreads to the surface of the metal tube, through the magnesium oxide powder, and is transferred to the air or gas, effectively heating it.

Assembly line drying
The assembly line drying equipment with 6 20KW heaters is relatively long, and 6 heaters are installed on it in sections. There is return air at the fan inlet to ensure that the overall assembly line temperature can be recycled and reused, without wasting waste heat, which is more energy-saving.

Roller sand drying
The drying equipment with 6 20KW heaters is relatively long, and 6 heaters are installed on it in sections. There is return air at the fan inlet to ensure that the temperature of the entire assembly line can be recycled and reused, without wasting waste heat, which is more energy-saving.

Sausage drying room
The drying room is 2.8*3.2*2.5 meters in size, and is equipped with a 15KW heater for constant temperature drying at 65 degrees. The temperature rises for about 30 minutes, and then the constant temperature is maintained for drying.

ELEKHEAT duct heaters are designed for heating air in ducts and are available in three types: low, medium, and high temperature. The heaters are supported by steel plates to minimize vibration, with over-temperature control devices in the junction boxes for safety.

For control, the system includes over-temperature protection and an interlock device that ensures the electric heater only starts after the fan. A differential pressure device is added to prevent fan failure. The gas pressure heated by the duct heater should not exceed 0.3Kg/cm². If higher pressure is required, a circulating electric heater is recommended. The temperature limits are as follows:

Low-temperature type: up to 160°C

Medium-temperature type: up to 260°C

High-temperature type: up to 500°C
